Affiliate Disclosure

Last updated: 28 August 2026

ROR Labs is reader-supported. Some of the links on this site are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you click one and go on to buy something. This page explains exactly how that works, because you are entitled to know before you click.

Amazon Associates

ROR Labs is not currently a member of the Amazon Associates Program.

Links to Amazon on this site are ordinary links: we earn nothing if you buy through them. If we join the program, this page will be updated before any commission-earning link goes live.

What this costs you

Nothing. The price you pay is identical whether you reach a product through one of our links or type the address yourself. The commission comes out of the retailer’s margin, not your wallet.

How we choose what to link to

Three rules govern every recommendation on this site, and they exist so that the commission never decides the content:

  • Evidence comes first. Articles are researched from peer-reviewed literature, government and agency publications, and reporting — in that order — and the sources are listed at the end of every article. The product suggestions follow from the evidence, never the other way round.
  • No paid placements. No company pays us to appear on this site, to be reviewed, or to be described in a particular way. We accept no sponsored posts and no free products in exchange for coverage.
  • We will tell you when the answer is “buy nothing.” Most of what reduces everyday risk is free — moving where you charge a device, opening a window, having a conversation with your doctor. Where that is the honest answer, it is the answer you will read here.

How affiliate links are marked

Any article containing affiliate links carries a disclosure near the top, before the first link. Individual links and product blocks are additionally marked (paid link). This follows the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s Endorsement Guides, which require disclosures to be clear, conspicuous and close to the recommendation itself — not buried on a page like this one.

Advertising

This site also carries display advertising, which is served by third parties and is separate from our editorial content. Advertisers have no influence over what we publish and no advance sight of it. How advertising cookies work, and how to opt out of personalised advertising, is described in our Privacy Policy.

This is not professional advice

ROR Labs publishes general information about everyday risk. It is not medical, legal, financial, engineering or fire-safety advice, and it is not a substitute for a qualified professional who knows your situation. Product suggestions are starting points for your own research, not prescriptions.

Questions

If anything on this page is unclear, or you think a disclosure has been missed somewhere on the site, please tell us through the contact page. We would rather fix it than defend it.
